November 1st – For the first ride of November we headed off to one of our regular café stops at Hebden Bridge.
Going over the hill from Newhey to Denshaw, up over Rishworth Moor, turning left at the ‘Turnpike’ and across Baitings Dam to pick up the Blue Ball road. Following the ‘Silver Route’ along Mirey Lane, up Steep Lane to the ‘Cragg’ and, for a change, going down the’ Cragg’ to Mytholmroyd and on to Hebden Bridge. The Watergate café at Hebden has a yard at the back where bikes can be left safely and is therefore very popular with cyclists.
After a leisurely lunch we returned to Rochdale along the valley through Todmorden and Littleborough.
Total distance 45 miles and not very many flat ones!
