January 2023: Your webmaster has completed creating the Great 2003 LE-JoG Tour tale. See here: 2003 LEJOG TOUR Any comments, additions, etc. welcome.
The Gallery page content has also been changed. See here : Galleries
Because of the way WordPress manages photosets as “Galleries” (i.e. a group of pictures embedded into a webpage) and “Albums” (a group of Galleries collated together), the easiest way to display the latter is if individual photos have EXIF data tags embedded into them, with keywords (such as LEJOG, or Mallorca, or MTB, etc) which means a HUGE exercise to re-tag photos BEFORE UPLOADING THEM. So, major work-in-progress, but do bear with it.
Coming to your website soon: Steve Cohen’s account from the 2022 Way Of The Roses Ride.
All of 2020 – The annus horribilus. All club activity went into hold, as the Covid-19 coronavirus and consequent Lockdowns / Social Distancing / etc were enforced. Now, where was that Turbo Trainer?
13-01-2020 – The AGM was held. Full-house in the Meeting Room. Discussions were heated (- I think the radiators were on full blast). Graeme McC now officially sanctioned to do web editing, so send photos and articles to him, please. (To captain_contoursATyahooDOTcoDOTuk).
01-08-2019 – Our long distance riding member, he being Captain of the Contours fame (or Graeme McC, as he is legally known by) has joined the non-working-old-fogies club (full time) thus has more time to dedicate to things cycling, on and off-road. He has even offered to help administer this website again! Watch this space (but don’t hold your breath, now that we are all WordPressy)…
01-01-2019 – Our long serving member and most prolific rider Chris Aston has left us for a new life in Malton, North Yorkshire. We all wish Chris the very best for the future and we’ve promised to have a weekends cycling up there with him in the summer.

13-10-2016 – A report from our member Chris Forde on his activities in 2016
The Championship Year – 2016
2016 has been a very eventful year from a Championship perspective though this was initially kick started in 2015 at the Stockton Duathlon Festival where I qualified by right for the 2016 Kalkar ETU (European) Duathlon Standard distance championships. This turned out to be my first International event and although the weather was not the best on the day the outcome was to provide further championship experience. By being a top 3 British finisher and placing in the top 10, I was to later learn that I had pre-qualified for the 2017 Championships.
Competing in the Clumber Park Duathlon earned me my next qualification place for the 2016 Aviles ITU (World) Duathlon Standard distance championships, the weather being the least of the issues finishing less placed then in my previous races but all valuable experience none the less.
My third successful championship qualifier was to be a departure from Duathlon to Triathlon.
This race the Llandudno Triathlon was a qualifier for the 2016 Cozumel ITU (World) Sprint Triathlon Championships which was also the Grand final of the Triathlon and took place in September.
In 2017 whilst nothing is certain I will be trying to add Sprint Duathlon and Standard Triathlon championships to my list of achievements.
2-4-2016 – Scout road at the Mytholmroyd end of the Silver Route is still closed and there is no sign of any work being done yet so I think it will stay that way for a long time.
21-03-2016 Something to look forward to.

14-03-2016 Cafe News
One of the most important parts of our Sunday rides is, of course, the cafe stop. Here is the latest news.
Most of Hebden Bridge seems to have returned to normal after the floods but the Watergate on Bridge street is still being renovated. I tried the cafe opposite (Rendezvous?) and found that my beans on brown toast with an egg (by way of a change!!) was very good and reasonably priced. The cafe is under new management.
A new addition to the list is the Drop Off Cafe on Market Street in Edenfield. (Opened September 2015). It is at the side of the old Co-op building more or less opposite Strachan’s Chemist. This is a very well fitted out and smart establishment with strong cycling connections. I only had a piece of millionaire (?) shortbread and a tea as I was pushed for time but the shortbread was excellent! The owner Colin is a keen cyclist I understand. The cafe is open Wednesday to Sunday 10am to 4pm.
15-02-2016 – Scout road at the Mytholmroyd end of the Silver Route is still closed and there is no sign of it being re-opened any time soon.
09-02-2016 – One of our long-standing members, Chris Forde, has qualified for the European Duathlon Championships which take place in Kalkar, Germany on the weekend of the 16-17th of April 2016. Well done Chris.
24-01-2016 – A landslide closes Scout Road at the Mytholmroyd end. (Silver Route).
