The Trans Pennine Cycling Club (TPCC) caters for riders from Rochdale and the surrounding area. We are a small, friendly and welcoming club and the focus is on enjoying our cycling on great cycling routes in one of the most beautiful areas of the country. We are not a racing club and welcome anyone, whether new to cycling or returning to it, with the emphasis on leisure!
Sunday Road Rides
Our road rides take place each Sunday and usually start either from “The Range”, Kingsway Retail Park, Rochdale, OL16 5AF (junction Milnrow Rd/Kingsway) or from "The Pearly Gates" to Bury Road Cemetery.
Off-road & trail rides
Whilst we are predominantly a Road Cycling Club, off-road and trail riding is also catered for, with our regular Wednesday MTB rides of about 2 hours duration with a visit to a pub/cafe (optional!) for a chat and a laugh as part of the ride.
These rides depart from either The Harvester (on Bury Road) or from the old Alpine Gasthof (on Whitworth Road at Cronkeyshaw Common).
We also have Friday MTB rides for those untethered to work!
Other rides
Members regularly take part in Audax and regional rides such, as the Manchester 100. The club also has a popular social events diary which includes an Xmas lunch and Xmas Tinsel ride, very popular curry social evenings, weekends away, cycle tours (e.g. Lands End to John O'Groats) and also continental trips (e.g. Majorca, Alps).
Fellow cyclists are always welcome: we are always pleased to hear from anyone who would like to try riding with us.
